Japanese Yunomi (Tea Cup)

A yunomi is a traditional Japanese teacup, usually found with an elevated base called a kodai. This raised body reduces heat transfer to the table and gives it more stability. The yunomi style also allows you to cradle  the teacup in your hand easily while the tea is hot and helps you gauge the temperature of the tea.
