Organic Houjicha Powder

A roasted Japanese green tea where the leaves are steamed, rolled, dried, and milled into a fine powder giving it a beautiful brown hue. The flavor is rich with notes of toasty and earthy qualities with hints of cacao due to the roasting process. It is also naturally lower in caffeine than matcha. 

This organic houjicha powder comes from Shimada in the Shizuoka Prefecture.

Little Matcha Studio latte preparation:

1. Pre-soak your whisk. 
2. Sift 3-4g of houjicha powder into a chawan. 
3. Add 2oz of 170F water and begin to whisk in a zigzag motion. 
4. Add in 6oz of sweetener, if needed, and pour over your preferred milk choice.
