Join us for this fun and casual indigo dye workshop. This is an open workshop where you can come between 12-4pm to use the indigo vat! We will be doing this outside at the green space next to the shop. Stephanie will be teaching fold techniques as well as supplying you with everything you need to dye in the vat (buckets, gloves, clothespins, string, etc). We will be using the Yamato Indigo Kit from Japan that we sell in the shop!

$5.00 secures your spot for 1 piece to dye and is a commitment that you will show up!

Items best to dye: Natural materials such as cotton, linen, and ramie. This dye kit does not dye synthetic fibers. Non-heavyweight t-shirts, canvas totes, bandannas, tea towels, and pillow cases. Please do not bring heavy/thick items or shoes.

When dyeing brand new fabric, make sure to wash it before the workshop in hot water for best results.

Options:

  1. Buy a WANDERSTATE canvas totes and pick up at the shop. The $15 includes your reserved spot.
  2. Buy your spot for $5 and bring one small item to dye.
  3. Buy your spot for $5, bring one small item to dye, and bring additional items to then pay remainder at the shop.
  4. Buy a WANDERSTATE canvas tote for $15 and pay for additional items at the shop.

Please come in clothes you do not mind getting indigo dye on (in case you're messy!) :) We are not responsible for clothing getting damaged.

Please no children under the age of 6.

You will be responsible for setting your garment at home with white vinegar. Add 50ml white vinegar to 4 cups of water and soak for 5-10 minutes. Then rinse clean and dry naturally.

Please refer to Yamato Indigo FAQ's if you have questions or are curious about the product.
